Daewoo Nubira II Review Bristol

Nothing new in the name Nubira. The previous version was a fairly anonymous four-door saloon and estate car that marked the beginning of the end of Daewoo regurgitating old Chevrolets with names like Espero and Nexia in Bristol.

Daewoo Nexia (1995 - 1997) Bristol

Good: Very cheap now and loaded with kit.
Bad: Poor build quality, heavy tyre wear and electrical problems. Drives badly, even by late 1990s standards.

Daewoo Lacetti Bristol

Slightly bigger than a Polo and slightly smaller than a Focus, Lacettis start with a 1.4 rise through a better equipped 1.6 or 1.6 automatic, and culminates with a sporty 1.8 in summer 2004. Engines are familiar GM Family 1 and Family II, as in some of the Vauxhall range.

Good: Roomy cabin and decent specification.
Bad: Very short life. Became the Chevrolet Nubira in the UK, and remained the Chevrolet Optra in other markets.

Good: Versatile, spacious mini-MPV with plenty of kit, respectable handling and a decent ride.
